ABOUT BLUE NOTE

This new immersive digital format app for iPad celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the legendary Blue Notes Records. The app is newly curated and will support the Anniversary campaign deep into 2015. It will showcase the giants of the jazz label from its conception in 1939 through to today’s substantial roster of groundbreaking artists.

Download this free app to explore Blue Note Record’s extensive repertoire of all forms of jazz music, album covers, stories, pictures and video. Spotify, Rdio and Deezer premium music subscribers can simply sign in to their preferred streaming services in-app to absorb an abundance of jazz. Thirty second audio clips and album purchase is also available courtesy of iTunes.

Blue Note has the perfect digital format for those new to discovering jazz, while easing the way for discerning jazz aficionados to delve deeper into Blue Note’s famous artists directory. Each week, Blue Note will highlight albums, artists and stories compiled by journalists, musicians and jazz experts. The app will be frequently updated to eventually make available Blue Note’s entire catalogue.

In addition, as part of the Blue Note campaign, the app includes Back To Blue, where fans can enjoy the unified classic vinyl reissue/digital releases celebrating 100 iconic albums chosen by Don Was, President of Blue Note Records. From March 2014 five new albums have been released each month and this will continue until October 2015. This vinyl collection will be available as MFiT releases and as album streaming music.
